Green Gables Art

So, you’re probably wondering why I’m posting again so soon. Or maybe you’re not, but I’ll tell you anyway. It’s because Grace and Katherine at The Maidens of Green Gables are hosting an Anne of Green Gables blog party!! *throws confetti and serves up plum pudding*

Anne Of Green Gables Blog Party July 28-31

They told me about it with such delight and excitement that I just had to participate. 🙂 I wasn’t really sure what to do, since I’ve never participated in a blog party before, but they encouraged me to create some Green Gables themed artwork. So I turned up my music and got to work.

Oh, disclaimer: Because I’ve seen the Anne of Green Gables movies a few times and only read the first three books once, I automatically think of the movies whenever anyone mentions Anne of Green Gables. Therefore this art is based off of the movies.

Alright, here’s the art.

“But I don’t have any black dresses.” – Diana Barry

Diana has always been one of my favorite characters in Anne of Green Gables, so of course I drew her first. I did this one with graphite and charcoal, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. 🙂

And of course, you can’t make an Anne of Green Gables art post without a drawing of Anne and Gilbert.

I tried to make this one look more illustration-ish. This style was actually quite fun, though I’m not 100% satisfied with how the drawing turned out. I’m probably just being picky though.

And then I just had to do one last quick sketch of Matthew and Marilla.

Notice how the drawings keep getting less and less defined. XD Well, I was a little pressed on time, so that happened.

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing the artwork as much as I enjoyed creating it. And a big thank you to The Maidens of Green Gables for hosting the party!!

I will now leave you with a gif….

….You had to know that was coming. Best part of the whole movie.

Until next time! 🙂

  1. I LOVE Anne of Green Gables! My whole childhood, right there. ❤ I've seen the movies tons of times, though sadly not in a while. I haven't read *all* of the books though. 🙂 Your art is perfect! I absolutely love all of it. You're right, that is the best part of the whole thing. XD Fun fact: my brother played Gilbert in a musical once, and the wonderful girl who played Anne is now his for real wife! It's awesome. ❤ It's also kind of funny. 😛 Great job with your art!

Ahh!! That’s awesome about your brother! XD I just have to ask, did she break a slate over his head?
