Hello there! I’m Chalice.

artist // old soul // young at heart // dreamer who is learning to be a doer // musician // probably listening to oldies // daughter // sister // friend // adoptive grandmother (don’t ask) // I’m just trying to be aesthetic here guys

The main thing that you should know about me is that I am a child of God. It’s a bit of a long story, and you can always ask me about if you’re interested, but to make it short, I called on Jesus Christ—begging Him to be my Savior during a very worshipful drum solo—when I was 13, and He instantly responded and turned my life around. It was messy, people. And it was amazing. There was tears. And lots of hugs. And the rest is definitely still happening.

I’m definitely still figuring things out, and it’s been a crazy, continually messy journey so far, but God has given me an absolutely insane amount of grace, and taught me so many beautiful things along the way.

I created this blog at first because I had a lot of thoughts on art, and courage, and lots of tips I wanted to share, and the occasional art dump.

I still have lots of thoughts, but the old blog here has since evolved into something a little more… random (prompting my brothers to occasionally shout “you’re supposed to be writing about ART!!“). But I hope to keep it centered around the themes of Boldness and Beauty, and ultimately, glorifying God in and through those things.

Welcome to da mess.

1. brave and determined.
2. able to do something that frightens one.
3. strong in the face of pain or grief.
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” ~ Deuteronomy 31:6

1. the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination
2. not what you see, but what you make others see
“Be true to yourself. Make each day your masterpiece. Help others. Drink deeply from good books. Make friendship a fine art. Build a shelter against a rainy day. Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day.” ~ John Wooden

Well, now that you know a little bit about me, tell me about yourself! I love meeting new people, finding kindred-spirits, and all the wonderful things that go along with that. You can also contact me here, if you so wish. I hope to see you around!
