Hey everyone! Been a while since I’ve been around, so first off let me just say, Hey everyone. How’s life been?
Today, I’m excited to help announce the release of one of my top reads of 2020: Stop the Rain : Never Leave a Fallen Comrade, by Kassie Angle.
Guys, what can I say? This book made me laugh, cry, smile, groan in agony to my brother because it’s subject is so heavy. I’m going to be honest, it isn’t a light read. But it’s a good one. But I’m not here to review the book (although I will be writing a review on Goodreads sometime soon), I’m here, per norm, with some art inspired by the book!
But first, you might want to know, what is this amazing book about? Who is the wonderful author? Where can I learn more about this book? Or perhaps purchase it? Well, friends, I gotcha covered.

He left his entire world in Iraq. So why did the war follow him home?
Harley Keane and his best friend Nigel were just kids when 9/11 rocked their world and changed their lives forever. When they’re finally old enough to join the Army, all their childhood dreams seem about to come true. But war wasn’t supposed to be like this. A kid’s dream isn’t supposed to become a living nightmare. Fellow soldiers aren’t supposed to bleed out in front of your eyes.
Back home, safe and unwounded, Harley feels anything but. Why would God spare him when so many others were taken? Why won’t the nightmares stop, even when he’s awake? And how long can he hide the truth that threatens everything he has left? When Harley’s invisible scars refuse to stay hidden, will he let anyone close enough to help? And how do you go on with life when “okay” isn’t okay at all?
Author Bio:

Kassie Angle is a teenaged Christian author, cowgirl, therapy dog trainer, stereotypical INFJ, and Army girl to the core. Her first love, i.e. debut novel, O to be Like Thee, swept her unexpectedly into the world of indie authors. She tries to use her stories to fill the silences in literature, helping more people understand the world of the Army and showing how God heals the broken-hearted. You can find her and more of her writing at SoldierGirlStories.com.

So there you have it! *throws confetti and hands out oreos* Are you excited?? I’ve been looking forward to this book releasing ever since I read the alpha copy back in May, so I’m pretty excited. 😁
I originally wanted to make several pieces of art, but then I decided to do NaNoWriMo, and my time went out the window, so I narrowed it down to one drawing + a collage (since I’ve been hooked on making collages lately 😁). *sucks in breath* Honestly, I’m a little nervous since I’ve never done this sort of thing before. I hope this does your story justice, Kassie!
First, here’s the collage I put together a couple nights ago, (and tweaked about fifty-seven times since 😝).

And the artwork….

Because I only had time for one drawing I decided to do it in sort of a collage style format to see how much of the story/symbols I could fit in. It was actually a lot of fun!
Well, whaddya think? Will you be giving this story a read? Have you read it already? Did you love it? I’d love to hear from you so don’t be afraid to leave a comment and let me know what you think, or if you just want to talk about life. 😊
Until next time, friends. Stay lionhearted.

Wow, great job, Chalice! I love the drawing with all the symbols. Even though I haven’t read the novel, I feel like it captures the book’s themes well compared to the bio. I’ll have to check out this book because it sounds interesting.
Thanks for sharing! Remain lionhearted!!! *raises fist in air*
