The Sunshine Blogger Award

Hey Everyone! How’s it going? Today we’re doing another award. Eden Anderson tagged me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Does that mean I was a ray of sunshine in her life? I don’t know. What’s the meaning behind this award? If you know, please leave a comment and let me know. 😀

The Rules:

01. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them. Thank you so much, Eden! (Her blog has been a happy little ray of sunshine in my life. Go check it out!)

02. List the rules and display an award logo on your blog post.

03. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.

04. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and notify them by commenting on any of their posts.

05. Ask the nominees 11 new questions.

Favorite season?

WINTER!!

When skies are grey and nights are dark, ponds are iced over and the trees are bare. When you go outside to load wood with your brothers and laugh at the snot-cicles hanging off each other’s nose. And your toes slowly turn into icicles and your breath freezes in the air. Then you go inside and the furnace is rumbling and the house smells the slightest bit like smoke.

And of course we can’t forget Hanukkah and twinkle lights and sweaters!!

Alright, happy rant over.

Raisins in cookies. Yay or nay?

tenor (5)
Me when I realize a cookie has raisins.

Nay. I don’t really like raisins in anything, actually. I pick them out of my granola and give them to my baby brother.

If you could travel to Middle Earth, where would you go?

Bag End. I would barge in and eat all of Bilbo’s food.

What is one of the worst book you ever read?

Well, we did mention Onion John before. But that book was so bad I didn’t even read it. Then there was The Magic Bicycle and The Maze Runner, but I never finished those either.

See, if I get part of the way through a book and think it’s bad enough to be considered “the worst book I’ve ever read”, then I just don’t finish reading it. So technically, I haven’t read the worst book I’ve ever read.

tenor (13)
Me rereading that last sentence.

Favorite mode of transportation?

Helicopter, baby!

tenor (10)

Just kidding, I’ve never ridden a helicopter.

So maybe a pegasus.

Name one random thing that makes you happy.

This pastel painting of Robert Downey Jr. by Tylor Hepner:

Artwork by Tylor Hepner

I’m not a huge Iron Man/Tony Stark/Robert Downey Jr. fan, but something about this painting makes me really happy. It’s just so good! Seriously, God has given this artist an incredible gift. I can’t get over it!

Favorite teen writer? (Doesn’t have to be published.)

Sarah Baran, people. Her blog is just so entertaining and relatable and uplifting (plus, she’s an artist). Go check it out: The Sarcastic Elf

Fictional character that made you REALLY mad?

Isaac Knight from The Choosing by Rachelle Dekker. This man hath invoked my righteous fury. So much indeed, that I started talking in King James. Seriously, I’ve never had such a strong desire to punch someone in the face. Even a real human. But this man…

What’s one of the most inspiring blog posts you read this year?

I had to do a wee bit of digging to find it again.

What Keeps Me Writing by Rosalie Valentine. *happy sigh*

Favorite form of procrastination? (*evil laughter*)

Making art. That’s my favorite form of procrastination. And when I’m supposed to be making art, I procrastinate…. by making other art. But, hey, it’s not the worst form of procrastination. At least I’m being productive. Not like scrolling through miles of Pinterest and IG.

What’s one of the first things you would do if you became the last person on earth?

tenor (1)

^This.

I nominate these bloggers, who have been rays of sunshine in my life:

Grace and Katherine
Pattie
Noah (Would love to see the actual Noah Litle do this award. XD)

I’m not sure who else to nominate. I feel like everyone has already been nominated. But if I’m wrong, and you haven’t been nominated yet (or you just want to do it again), then I also nominate you.

Until next time…

P.S. I apologize for the Iron Man infiltration. Sometime after I wrote this: “I’m not a huge Iron Man/Tony Stark/Robert Downey Jr. fan”, I thought, Hey, wouldn’t it be funny to go back and put a ton of Iron Man gifs in this post since I just said that?

  1. Worst book I’ve ever read? I hate to criticize stuff, but my least favorite (that sounds better than ‘worst’, right?) would have to be Unblemished by Sara Ella. I actually did read it through to the end, and looked at the other books in the trilogy to see if it got any better, but apparently not. It was also the book where I discovered why everyone hates love triangles.

I love your response to the Middle Earth question.

I thought I was so clever cause I saw all of your gifs were Robert Downey Jr and then I reached the end…😐

    1. Oh yeah, I read through the Unblemish trilogy sometime last year and I guess it just wasn’t really my thing. I enjoyed reading them, but yes, the love triangle got kind of annoying, and I really didn’t like the way the trilogy ended. :/
      Thanks!
Oh, that’s funny! XD But, hey, you’re still clever for realizing before the end. 😉

  2. Oh my I love all the gifs. That was so clever. 😂😂
After the second I was wondering if you had some hidden obsession with him. Though I must say his is very gif-able (it’s a word okay) 😜

  3. You have indeed been a ray of sunshine for me! 😍 I liked you from the moment we met on Story Embers and now reading your blog…you’ve gotten even more awesome!! 🤗
(Sorry, I don’t actually know “what” the Sunshine Blogger Award is other than that it’s a blog tag and it’s supposed to spread happiness. *shrugs* 😛)
YASS! ALL THE IRON MAN GIFS!!! ❤️❤️ This post made me so happy. Loved reading your answers and those gifs are perfect!! 😊

    1. Oh Eden, you are so sweet! ❤ Your comment brightened my day! And I feel the same way about you! *Hedgehugs!!*
      Well, I guess that's a fitting title, then. 😉
Aw, thanks! That makes /me/ happy! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

  4. This is such a fun post! I appreciate the irony of the Iron Man GIFs. 😉 You used them quite masterfully as well.
Somehow I read the entire Maze Runner trilogy, even though I disliked it from the beginning of the first book and I never stopped ridiculing it. Maybe I just enjoyed ridiculing it? Honestly I don’t know. But somehow that happened.
The worst book I ever read was Hawkes Harbor, and I DID stop reading that one, but not soon enough. I started reading it because I liked The Outsiders, and it was by the same author, but it was SO BAD. I spent pages and pages of my journal RANTING about it. I was irate. Oi. Just thinking about it makes me a little on edge here. I literally threw the book in the dumpster (it was mine, I got it used) because it was GARBAGE. I am appalled at the thought of throwing books away, but I did that. That’s how mad I was. But anyway. Moving on.
Your description of winter is so beautiful, it captures the season nicely. I like winter a lot, especially when I can sit inside and be cozy, and I don’t have to drive anywhere.
    Great post!

    1. Thanks! 🙂 I must say, Iron Man lends himself quite well to gifs and blog posts. 😉
Oh yes, I confess, there have been times when I’ve greatly dislikes a book but read it anyway just to ridicule it. And half the time I end up actually liking the book by the end. 😛
Ah, I’ll take your word for that one. I got mad enough at The Choosing, but it was just the one character, not the entire book. I still feel like I could rant about it for a while though.
Yes, I love winter. It’s so perfect for wrapping up in a blanket and reading, or going outside in the evening to stargaze. I could probably write a whole post about it, but I’ll stop myself there 😛
      Thanks for reading! 🙂
